Immediate Dentures

Immediate dentures are ideal for individuals who need to have some, or all their remaining natural teeth removed but don’t want to go without teeth during the healing process.

Your Denturist takes impressions of your mouth while your natural teeth are still present, then fabricates a denture designed to closely resemble your natural smile—or make any improvements you’d like. When your teeth are extracted, your new denture is placed immediately, allowing you to leave with a complete smile the same day.

Because the denture can’t be tried in before your teeth are removed, minor aesthetic compromises are common, or adjustments may be needed afterward. As your mouth heals and tissues change, follow-up appointments are important to ensure comfort and fit. Temporary liners/tissue conditioners or adjustments may be required during healing, and once your gums have fully settled, your denture will be permanently relined, rebased, or replaced with a new permanent one for the best long-term fit.

At Battell Denture Clinic, we offer a two-step approach designed to keep you comfortable, confident, and smiling throughout your treatment. This process combines the convenience of immediate dentures with the precision and beauty of custom-made dentures once healing is complete.

First, after your natural teeth are removed, temporary transitional dentures are placed right away—so you never have to go without teeth during the healing phase. As your mouth heals and changes shape, we monitor your progress to ensure comfort and proper fit.

When healing is complete, we craft your custom precision dentures, designed to fit perfectly and reflect the exact look you want for your new smile. This two-step process ensures your final dentures feel natural, look exceptional, and function comfortably for years to come.

How do I know if immediate dentures are right for me?

If you’re considering dentures and know you will need extractions to prepare for the procedure, immediate dentures could be a perfect solution for you to keep you smiling while you heal.

We are thorough in our COMPLIMENTARY consultation and examination and give you the chance to discuss your concerns so we can offer the best treatment options suited to your needs.

How often do I need to replace my dentures?

Dentures are no different than other dental/medical devices or prostheses; they require regular maintenance and will eventually need to be replaced.

Immediate dentures may be temporary, worn only for about 8 to 10 months until healing has occurred, then replaced with final dentures, or immediate dentures may be used as the final dentures but will require relining or rebasing once healing has occurred.

How often should I visit my denturist?

We’ll take the stress out of your Denture journey by ensuring that you are scheduled in for annual maintenance check-up appointments!
